There are no half marks in the oral exam. This ensures that there is a clear distinction between band levels.
2. What should I wear?
You should concentrate on your ownfeelings and decide for yourself what makes you feel good. The interview does not care what you wear.
3. Can I use humour?
Do not hold back and suppress a funny thought or commnet. Sometimes it can be helpful for you. Of course do not make the humour offensive or make the funny joke or story too long or it may appear as though you are trying to buy time.
4. Should I always be honest about everything?
Whenever possible you should be honest because the IELTS officer is only interested in your English. (IELTS and Visa Officer are totally different). The key issue is that your character is not being judged, olny your English. The audiocassettes are not going to the immigration agency. Copies are not sent to the UK, to the Canadian embassy or Australian Consulate. The tapes are only kept until a period of time and then thy are distroyed.
